Cervical Cancer Awareness Month: VIA Global Health Supporting Global Strategy to Eliminate Cervical Cancer
In this global Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, VIA Global Health renews its commitment to equitable access of life-saving medical products, as a distribution and digital procurement channel dedicated to reaching underserved communities worldwide. The global community has recognized that cervical cancer is a preventable disease; no woman should die from cervical cancer. Yet, the disease takes the lives of 311,000 women every year across the globe—90% of those deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).1 VIA Global Health is proud to contribute to the Global Strategy to Accelerate the Elimination of Cervical Cancer as a Public Health Problem, outlined by the World Health Organization in 2020, by making cervical cancer treatments more accessible and affordable to women and health care workers around the world. Cervical cancer is one of the most successfully treatable forms of cancer, but only if it is prevented, diagnosed early, and managed effectively. The disproportionate impact on women in underserved communities highlights the importance of approaches that focus on equity in information and access.
VIA Global Health, as an online procurement platform, has positively impacted the lives of nearly 2 million people through its distribution channels for buyers in LMICs, who serve public, private, and the FBO/NGO health care facilities. VIA Global Health is a market leader in creating awareness and access for life-saving products, and managing customer-oriented services from purchase to delivery.

VIA sells products to assist with visualization and diagnosis of pre-cancerous cervical lesions; Mobile ODT’s EVA System is a useful tool for screening and treatment services at different levels of care. One of VIA’s best-selling products is Liger’s Thermocoagulator, a thermal ablation device for the treatment of cervical pre-cancer; this device is a handheld, reusable, and battery-operated, all of which enable treatment at various levels of the health care system. Having already sold hundreds of these products, VIA Global Health has positively touched the lives of over 50,000 women worldwide and has opened up new distribution channels for awareness and for access in otherwise underserved communities.
At VIA, we believe every woman and girl should have access to cervical cancer prevention, screening, and treatment, and that VIA has the ability and commitment to contribute to global efforts to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health problem.
