Description

Celsure 7L5D-25N is temperature controlled packaging that is pre-qualified as a shipping box that maintains a precise temperature (-20°C for 120 hours) for vaccines, diagnostic test kits or other heat labile products. Celsure bears a patent pending design and uses Phase Change Material (PCM) technology for precise temperature maintenance. This eliminates the use of potentially hazardous dry ice and makes the packaging more sustainable. This packaging is reusable under certain conditions.

Key Features

Precision
A precise -25°C to -15°C is maintained without exposing the products to the risk of over freezing unlike dry ice.

Safe
No dry ice makes Celsure safe for handling.

Validated as per International Standards
Validations done against ISTA 7D profile.

Zero Thawing
No thawing of cassettes is required; assembly time is less than 5 minutes.

FAQ

Is the packaging pre-tested?

Yes, all Celsure boxes are tested and validated against their claims. Pluss follows international standards for testing as given by ISTA.

Is anything else required before making the shipment?

The box provided is complete and no other accessory is required. However, proper cold chain infrastructure so to be able to charge (freeze) PCMs is required. PCMs used in -25°C to -15°C packaging are needed to be charged at temperatures below -30°C.

What are phase change materials (PCMs)?

Phase Change Materials (PCMs) are passive thermal energy storage materials, meaning they can maintain the temperature without any external power supply. This is achieved by energy involved in change of phase from solid to liquid or vice versa. The most commonly used PCM is water/ice. Ice is an excellent PCM for maintaining temperatures at 0°C. While the freezing point of ice is fixed at 0°C (32°F), Pluss has developed several other materials that can maintain different temperatures from -40°C to as high as 60°C
Three major factors that qualify a PCM
• Consistency in performance over substantial number of cycles
• Constant Temperature maintenance during release and absorption of Energy
• High Latent heat energy storage capacity.

How safe are PCMs? Are they classified as dangerous goods?

According to IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR), PCMs are not classified as hazardous during transportation and hence not categorized as dangerous goods.

Is the packaging reusable?

All components are reusable as long as there are no signs of damage. However, it is recommended that the components are checked to meet the manufacturing specifications (weight and dimensions) for successful reuse. To verify these specifications, an internal quality protocol should be implemented.

Where can I find the use instructions for the packaging?

Use instructions are given in the manual. In case of any additional query, your sales representative may be contacted.
