    Frequently Asked Questions

Can the Beluga Resuscitator be used as a CPAP?

Beluga is a t-piece resuscitator with adjustable PIP and PEEP settings. This means that yes, it can be used as CPAP once these values are set in certain way (PEEP as desired with PIP simultaneously set higher than PEEP). The difference between PIP and PEEP will determine the flow rate. PEEP can be set from 0 to 20 cm H2O. However, the Beluga is not a CPAP and customers should be aware of the following limitations:

    • No bubble effect
    • No heated gas
    • No humidification

These features would have to be provided externally (for example through an external humidifier).
