The Viral Transport Medium and Specimen Collection Swab Kit combines the components that are used hand-in-hand for COVID-19 testing. This kit is conveniently designed for the collection, preservation and transport of oral/nasal clinical specimens such as viral (SARS-CoV-2) specimens. This kit consists of 200 sterile single use Viral Transport Medium (VTM) Collection Tubes with a rubber closure and a HDPE cap, 200 oral (throat) and 200 nasal (nose) specimen collection swabs, and 200 biohazard ziplock bags.

Description

The Viral Transport Medium and Specimen Collection Swab Kit features sterile single use Viral Transport Medium (VTM) Collection Tubes with a rubber closure and a HDPE cap. The tube contains the VTM for the collection, transport and preservation of clinical specimens. The tubes are packed in trays with ice-blocks for temperature control. This kit also features Specimen Collection Swabs intended to be used for clinical and patient collection of oral (throat) swab specimens and nasal (nose) swab specimens. Swabs consist of a small piece of absorbent polyester material (flocked tip) attached to the end of a shaft (plastic), with a shaft connection and are used to collect a sample for analysis.
This kit consists of 200 sterile single use Viral Transport Medium (VTM) Collection Tubes with a rubber closure and a HDPE cap, 200 oral (throat) specimen collection swab and 200 nasal (nose) specimen collection swab, and 200 Biohazard Ziplock bag.

Key Features

Viral Transport Medium
The tube is used for storing the buffer used for transport of viral specimens. This Unique Media Formulation contains antibiotics to prevent any microbial contamination and is in strict compliance with CDC guidelines. The VTM requires cold storage, so ice-packs are provided to maintain the temperature during the collection and transport of clinical specimens.

Specimen Collection Swabs
The oral and nasal swabs are designed for superior sample collection using unique nylon flocked fiber technology. They have a safe and reliable molded break-point and are ETO Sterilized.

Will the VTM cause any adverse effect?

The VTM is not be consumed internally or applied externally, and therefore will not cause any adverse effect.

What happens after my sample has been collected?

The swab and tube containing the sample specimen will be sent for further analysis to the laboratory after which you will receive your results.
